The Masterpieces Art Competition and Exhibition presented by Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah (CASM) is an annual event in which local artists aged between 12 and 25 years of age are presented with an opportunity to have their artwork exhibited in a professional gallery. In doing this, the gallery is able to exhibit a collection of artworks that explore the current interests and perspectives of the community's creative youths.
The artworks may utilise a wide variety of mediums, including painting, drawing and digital media, and entries are judged across three separate age categories; 12-15yrs, 16-18yrs and 19-25yrs.
In addition to the main exhibition, the event also features the Junior Masterpieces program, which celebrates the talent and potential of Mandurah's budding artists aged five to 11 years. Selected artworks from these young artists will be showcased in the Mez Art Space at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, giving them the opportunity to have their work seen by a wider audience.
Masterpieces 2K25 Cancellation
The City of Mandurah is sorry to share that Masterpieces 2K25 won’t be going ahead this year.
While we know this will be disappointing for many in our creative community, we’re already planning an exciting return for this program in 2026, complete with the exhibition, competition prizes, workshops, and artist talks.
In the meantime, CASM will be buzzing with creativity as our youth artists in residence, Kaelin van Rensburg and Xanthe Turner, take over the space for the next three months. Plus, we’ll keep the artistic energy flowing with workshops and pop-up artist short-stays, designed to support young artists in taking their creative career further.
CASM will remain open to visitors throughout April, so do come and be a part of Mandurah's creative community at CASM in 2025.
