Youth programs and activities

This Drop-In space is held every week.  This is for any young person aged 17 – 25 to hang out, play games and meet new people.  Help is also on hand for study or work.  Free Wi-Fi, computers, pool tables and other games all with youth worker support.

Times: Thursdays 10.00am – 2.00pm

Where: Billy Dower Youth Centre

Enjoy pool tables, basketball courts, art, computers, gaming consoles, air hockey, free WiFi, snacks and much more. Dinner is included on Thursday nights.

Interested in street style Basketball? The Institute of Indigenous Wellbeing and Sport and The City of Mandurah bring you BEATBALL! This program offers a mixture of beats and basketball.

Listen to some tunes, while versing your mates in 3v3. Dinner provided.

A boxing program for young people 10-25 years.  Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced classes, twice a week.

A free coding club for ‘Ninjas’ aged 7-17 years.  These fun, open-ended sessions in the FabLab include workshops, games, and time to work on projects.

Rt Kids | After school Art Classes for Young Creators

Art classes for students 5-18 years wanting to kick-start or develop their creativity through fun and interesting art projects. Explore drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, collage, printmaking and more!

Masterpieces Art Competition and Exhibition

This annual opportunity is for local emerging artists 13 – 25 years, to showcase their work in a professional gallery.

Artworks can be of any media including painting, drawing, printmaking, jewellery, sculpture, missed media, photography and film.

There is a prize pool of over $2000 to be won.

Applications open each November for exhibition the following March/April.

Disc Golf is a free and fun activity for people of all ages and abilities. Bring your friends and family down to Hall Park on the Western Foreshore and enjoy a round of Disc Golf on the nine basket course. Disc Golf is a great team building activity for the workplace

Dungeons and Dragons

Discover the world of DnD and tell your story through your hero’s quests for treasure and battles with deadly foes. 

Time: Wednesday 3.00 pm – 6.00pm during school term.

Duel Card Game Club

Play card games such as Magic the Gathering and Ugio with a group of like-minded people.

Time: Thursday 4.00 pm – 6.00pm during school term.

Hang out in our gaming space and play Minecraft, Overwatch and other great games on our high-end gaming PC’s and consoles.

A variety of short courses to help young people with employability skills or ideas of what to study: Intro to Barista, CPR, RSA, White Card and Resume and Interview Skills.

This fun and energetic circuit style class incorporates battle ropes, mini weights, sand bags and body weight exercises. All abilities are catered for.  

Details: 45 minute classes for 11-16 years

Where: At the MARC

View Term kids programs at the MARC

This 8-week program is offered every school term for young women aged between 11-17 who are attending High School.  It’s a place for young indigenous women to develop confidence and cultural knowledge and make new friends in a safe environment.

Times: Mondays from 3.30pm - 6.00pm

Cost: Free

This Fund supports the ideas and dreams of young people living in Mandurah aged 11 - 25.

The Youth Dream Big Fund is designed to support young people achieve something great. This may be to achieve a specific goal or dream or further develop a skill or talent.

Applications are welcome from individuals and organisations all year:

  • Individuals can apply for up to $350.

  • Organisations can apply for up to $500 to contribute toward a specific program or activity that develops young people.

The fund is open all year round, subject to funding availability. Please view the guidelines and application form.

Applications are made by selecting 'View guidelines and apply', completing the form and emailing to Youth Development at youth@mandurah.wa.gov.au. Please call 9550 3670 for assistance or further information.

The Mandurah RYDE program is one of several RYDE (Regional Youth Driver Education) programs in WA. 

RYDE is designed to support young people who don't have access to a vehicle or an adult who can supervise the 50 log book hours required on L Plates. 

The program links the young person with a volunteer mentor for a driving session in a car. The RYDE car is based at the Mandurah Library.

Do you have a budding artist in the family? RT Kids provides art classes for students wanting to kick start or develop their creativity through fun and interesting art projects.

RT Kids caters for participants 5-18 years and explores drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, collage, print making and more, sharing the experience of art making in a safe and friendly environment.

Classes are run at Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah (CASM) during school terms and classes are listed below:

Wednesdays:
8-11 years
3.30pm - 4.30pm and 4.45pm - 5.45pm

Thursdays:
5-8 years 3.30pm - 4.30pm
12-18 years 4.45 - 5.45pm
