The Mandurah Recreation Centres provide a number of Royal Life Saving Society of Western Australia training courses throughout the year by qualified trainers.

Group bookings are available on or offsite within the Peel region, subject to a minimum booking of 8 participants. For more information, please contact us on 9550 3600.

This course schedule is subject to change, and courses may be altered or cancelled due to low booking numbers. New course dates are updated regularly as new dates become available.

As of 1 January 2015, all students studying vocational qualifications are required to register for a Unique Student Identifier (USI) and supply their USI to their training providers.

Please be aware that the USI must be collected before awarding a certificate of attainment to any student.

To avoid delays, the Mandurah Recreation Centres requires the USI to be provided at the time of enrolment.

Learn the lifesaving skills of CPR.

The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training course provides theoretical and practical experience in the lifesaving techniques of CPR. 

HLTAID001 Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation or CPR certificate from Royal Life Saving is recognised as a pre-requisite for employment as a swimming instructor and is a desirable qualification for many employers.

The resuscitation (CPR) certificate is valid for one year and it is recommended that the qualification is updated on an annual basis.

Courses are conducted by City of Mandurah staff who are accredited by Royal Lifesaving Society of WA.

Pre-requisites

None.

Minimum Age Requirements

There is no minimum age requirement although all participants must be able to participate in an adult learning environment.

4 hours.

Certification

Successful candidates will receive an RLSSWA Resuscitation certificate which is valid for one (1) year, and Statement of Attainment HLTAID001 - Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation.

You will be required to complete the resuscitation component on the floor. This is a requirement of passing the course.

The Senior First Aid training course provides you with the knowledge and practical skills to provide first aid treatment for a broad range of emergencies until the arrival of professional medical help.

The Senior First Aid training course gives you the knowledge and practical skills to provide first aid treatment for a broad range of emergencies until the arrival of professional medical help.

This course from Royal Life Saving is nationally accredited, meets the Level 2 Workplace First Aid standard as determined by Work Safe, Western Australia and HLTAID003 First Aid. The senior first aid certificate is valid for three years after which you should take a refresher course.

Courses are conducted by City of Mandurah staff who are accredited by Royal Lifesaving Society of WA.

Minimum Age Requirements

There is no minimum age requirement although all participants must be able to participate in an adult learning environment.

16 hours over two days

Certification

Successful candidates will receive an RLSSWA Senior First Aid Certificate, RLSSWA Resuscitation Certificate, and Statement of Attainment that includes the following unit of competency from the National Health Training, HLTAID003 - Provide first aid.

This course will refresh your Senior First Aid skills and requalify you for another three years.

The Senior First Aid training course provides you with the knowledge and practical skills to provide first aid treatment for a broad range of emergencies until the arrival of professional medical help. 

Studies of skill and knowledge retention of trained people have shown that performance declines significantly if regular practice is not undertaken. Royal Life Saving recommends that all professional first aid qualifications are updated on a regular basis.

This course from Royal Life Saving is nationally accredited, meets the Level 2 Workplace First Aid standard as determined by Work Safe, Western Australia and HLTAID003 First Aid. The senior first aid certificate is valid for three years after which you should take a refresher course.

This course allows you to develop the skills, knowledge and judgement required to become a qualified Pool Lifeguard.

Australian Lifeguards are world-renown for their high levels of skill and knowledge in accident prevention and rescue response. The current minimum industry requirement for employment as a Pool Lifeguard at a Swimming Pool or Aquatic Facility is the Royal Life Saving Pool Lifeguard certificate.

This course is not currently provided by the Mandurah Recreation Centres.
