The Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre proudly holds the endorsement as a Watch Around Water facility.
Watch Around Water is an educational and public awareness program aimed at addressing the important issue of supervising young children at public swimming pools.

Here are the Watch Around Water guidelines we follow:

• Children under 5 years old must be accompanied into the facility by a responsible adult aged 16 or older and be supervised within arm's reach at all times.
• Children under 12 years old must also be accompanied into the facility by a responsible adult aged 16 or older and be supervised within line of sight at all times.

To ensure compliance with these guidelines, we kindly request that if you have a child under 5 years of age, you place a Watch Around Water band on both their wrist and the wrist of the responsible adult accompanying them.
These bands are readily available at our reception desk, or you can approach our friendly lifeguards for assistance.
These bands serve as a visual cue to our vigilant lifeguards, indicating your child's age and helping them ensure that you are maintaining the required proximity to your child at all times.
Your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all our visitors.

We are committed to making the MARC an inclusive space for every member of our community.
To ensure accessibility, the MARC offers the following facilities:

Adult accessible change rooms: Our facility features an adult accessible change room equipped with an adjustable hand basin, hoist, and a wash-down bed.
Wet wheelchairs: We provide four wet wheelchairs to facilitate access to all our pools. These wheelchairs are designed to make pool entry more accessible.
Ramps to all pools: The MARC has ramps leading to all our pools, ensuring that individuals with mobility challenges can easily access the water and participate in aquatic activities.
Portable hoist: For added convenience, we offer a portable hoist that can be used in all our pools and the spa. This hoist is a valuable tool for individuals who require assistance with getting in and out of the water.

Swimming Carnivals

Every year during term one, we are delighted to welcome several local schools for their swimming carnivals. This is an exciting time for our community, but it's important to note that pool availability can be affected between February and April. As soon as the schedule is confirmed, we will update it here.

2024 Swimming Carnivals: 

Kindly be advised that the above bookings are subject to change. 
We will strive to promptly update any modifications to bookings as soon as possible.

The program pool, known for its exceptional features, includes:

• Eight 25-metre lap lanes
• Depths ranging from 1.1 to 1.4 metres
• Maintained at a comfortable temperature of 29.5 degrees
• Equipped with ramp and hoist access for accessibility
• Aqua fitness classes for fitness enthusiasts

Lightning Policy
At the MARC, we prioritise the safety of our staff and strictly follow Australian Standards and Codes of Practice. In the event of a lightning storm, we may need to close all pools with minimal notice for at least 30 minutes. In the event of a pool closure, please always follow the directions of our lifeguards. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Our Kids Pirate Water Playground is designed to ignite your child's excitement with features like fountains, a slide, and a dumping bucket.
Our Pirate Playground is available upon request. Please be aware that availability is contingent on staff availability

Our outdoor 50-metre pool offers a range of features designed for both serious swimmers and those seeking leisurely aquatic activities.

Here's what you can expect:

• Eight 50-meter lap lanes: Ideal for those looking to clock in some serious laps.
• Moveable boom: The pool can be divided into two 25-meter pools using a moveable boom, providing flexibility for different activities.
• Depth: The pool offers depths ranging from 1.2 to 2 meters, catering to swimmers of various skill levels.
• Temperature: Enjoy comfortable water temperatures between 27 to 28 degrees, perfect for year-round swimming.
• Accessibility: Our pool is equipped with ramp and hoist access to ensure that everyone can enjoy the water.
• Undercover grandstand seating: Spectators can relax and watch the action from our convenient undercover grandstand seating area.
• Deep water aqua classes: Dive into fitness with our deep water aerobics classes, designed to keep you active and engaged.

Summer Pool Hours

As we transition into the summer season, please be aware of our adjusted pool closing times:

Mondays - Thursdays:
The pool will close at 9:00 pm.

Fridays:
Closing time is at 8:30 pm.

Saturdays - Sundays:
We'll be closing up at 6:00 pm, allowing you to make the most of your weekends with us.

Exciting Inflatables at the Centre

At our facility, we offer a thrilling inflatable experience with a variety of options for different age groups and pool locations.

Here's what you can look forward to:

Aquatron Inflatable:

• Suitable for ages 5 to 12 years.
• Appropriate for individuals under the height of 160cm.
• Available in both the program and outdoor pools.
• Available during school holiday periods.

MARCzilla Inflatable:

• Designed for ages 8 years and above.
• Appropriate for individuals under the height of 180cm.
• Exclusively located in the outdoor pool.
• Available during school holiday periods.

Wellness Centre age restriction:

• Our Wellness Centre is exclusively available to patrons aged 16 years and above.

Features of the Wellness Centre:

• Enjoy our spa, set at a soothing 36 degrees.
• Experience the relaxation of a dry sauna.

Conditions of use for the Wellness Centre:

• All patrons accessing the Wellness Centre must have the appropriate pass (wristband, key fob, or receipt).
• Access is granted only to individuals aged 16 years and above.
• For your safety, pregnant women are kindly requested not to use the Wellness Centre.

Additional guidelines for Wellness Centre use:

• Please respect a 20-minute time limit when using the Wellness Centre.
• Kindly be considerate of fellow patrons.
• Show appreciation to our dedicated staff.
• Our staff have the authority to request any patron not adhering to the guidelines to leave the Wellness Centre.

Spa guidelines:

• The maximum time allowed in the spa is 20 minutes.
• Avoid submerging your head underwater.
• Refrain from jumping or engaging in rough play.
• After spa use, patrons are required to shower.

Sauna guidelines:

• The maximum duration allowed in the sauna is 20 minutes.
• Do not place anything onto the sauna rocks.
• All patrons must use and sit on a towel while in the sauna.
• Patrons are requested to shower after sauna use.
