Works on the Eastern Foreshore north and central areas are progressing well, bringing us closer to creating a safe, accessible, and inclusive space for people to meet, play, and rest.
Demolition work is nearing completion, with 95 percent of the site now cleared. The project has focused on reusing and recycling materials and the contractor has been carefully sorting materials for proper removal and recycling. Some playground equipment has been kept by the City to reuse on other sites, while the beloved yellow boat will be integrated into the new play-space design on the Eastern Foreshore.
Essential services have been installed across much of the site, with a particular focus on the Northern end. This includes the pre-laying for lighting, CCTV, power outlets, drinking fountains, and irrigation systems, laying the groundwork for a safe, functional, and sustainable space.
Looking ahead you can expect:
- Concrete pouring around the northern-end buildings to create a safe, accessible space for all users.
- Commencement of car park drainage to prepare the site for the new car park construction.
We appreciate your patience and support as we transform Mandurah's foreshore into a thriving destination for residents, businesses and visitors.
