Two ladies and a gentleman enjoying cooked crab at Mandurah Crab Fest

We’re so excited to see our much-loved Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest return this weekend for the first time in three years, attracting visitors from all over WA and beyond to our beautiful city. It’s a celebration of our people, places and local culture, with a focus on offering visitors unique food and drink experiences. For those who have been around for it before, you’ll know that getting to and from the festival can be a bit tricky if you don’t plan ahead, so we thought we’d give our locals an upper hand with some tips and tricks to ensure you get the most out of the Crab Fest weekend. If it’s your first Crab Fest experience, you’re in for a treat!

Plan your route
The first step to getting to Crab Fest is to plan ahead. The event takes place in the heart of Mandurah, with road and water closures in place to accommodate the festival. The main road closures include Mandurah Terrace and some adjoining roads, as well as Smart Street Mall. It's important to check the road and water closures map on the Crab Fest website to avoid getting caught in traffic. Additionally, consider taking routes that'll take you around the closures.

Consider alternative modes of transport
If you live in Mandurah, consider alternative modes of transport to avoid spending time on finding parking. You can ride your bike to the festival with free, secure bike parking available. Or use public transport, with bus services operating to and from the event. You could also ask a friend or family member to drop you at the event.

Parking
With a little planning you can take the hassle out of parking! Designated parking areas are located at Mandurah Train Station, John Tonkin College, Ormsby Terrace and Leslie Street. We’ve also arranged for free shuttle buses to pick up and drop off event-goers from these dedicated parking areas across Mandurah, running Saturday to Sunday from 10am. Also, by parking in the donation parking areas, you’ll be helping our local community and sporting groups. Arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Accessibility
We're dedicated to creating the best possible experience for all visitors to Crab Fest. These include designated ACROD parking areas, accessible toilets, and viewing platforms for people with mobility issues. Additionally, the festival site is flat and easy to navigate, with little to no steps or stairs. Find out more about the event’s accessibility here
