About the Event

Celebrate International Day of People with Disability with Adaptive Volleyball

Join us for a fun Adaptive Volleyball session at the Billy Dower Youth Centre on Thursday, 5 December, from 3:30pm to 5pm. This special event, held during the After School Drop-in, is for 11 to 17-year-olds and is all about having fun and connecting with others.

With some small changes to the rules, equipment, and playing style, Adaptive Volleyball makes it easy for everyone to join in, learn new skills, and stay active. The net is lower, the ball is softer, and the game is set up so everyone feels welcome.

We’ll also have a guest from Volleyball WA to show you how to play. Whether you want to give it a go or just watch and cheer, this session is for you. Come celebrate with us and try something new.

Accessibility:

ACROD parking, a wheelchair-accessible toilet, and sensory resources will be available at the venue. Support workers are welcome, but they must have a Working With Children Check with them.

A Social Story™ explains a situation or event step-by-step to help people understand what to expect and how to respond.
