About the Event
Sport brings people together, whether as an athlete, volunteer or spectator. Mandurah Sporting Clubs have a range of programs and activities that are accessible and inclusive for people with disability, bringing everyone together through shared interests.
The City of Mandurah will present a “Show Case” of local inclusive sport and recreation opportunities and provide information about how people with disability can get involved and how clubs can become more inclusive.
In a half day event at the you are invited to hear from local clubs, coaches, volunteers and people with disability about how they got their programs going and the rewards and benefits of running and participating them. Sports include Badminton, Croquet, Football (AFL), Cricket, Surf Life Saving Waterpolo and Lawn Bowls.
The day will be facilitated by Michelle Wong, Educator, Researcher and Coach who works extensively with workplaces and clubs to develop a thriving inclusive community.
You will come away with some great ideas about how your club could be more inclusive for people with disability, opportunities to participate in local inclusive sporting activities and will receive a booklet with all the contacts for Mandurah Clubs.
