About the Event
Women’s History Month highlights the meaningful contributions and stories that women have made to our history.
The history of the Peel Region is full of information recorded about men and their stories, however finding stories of the roles women have played in our history is not always easy.
One family who have recorded the stories of the women in their family is the Tuckey family, and in celebration of Women’s History Month we will be featuring the stories of several matriarchs who have had an impact on the history of Mandurah.
Discover the stories of Mary-Ann Tuckey who worked as a post-mistress, Eliza Tuckey who ran the local school, Edith Tuckey, who managed the Peninsula Hotel and other Tuckey women.
