Works are in progress on Peel Street to underground power lines and relocate a number of services, as part of the overall upgrade of the street between Anstruther Road and Sutton Street.
Peel Street is a main entry road to Mandurah and forms part of the East-West Road link to the City Centre. The overall upgrade works include complete road reconstruction and widening, improved pedestrian and cyclist access (shared path), enhanced street lighting and landscaping.
In this current phase of the staged project, Western Power is now on site carrying out the undergrounding of power, and other service providers will follow with works to relocate utilities so the next phase of the works can begin.
Once the power is put underground and other services are shifted, the remainder of the road upgrades can commence and are anticipated to start next financial year, subject to grant funding and Council approvals.
