Local job seekers are encouraged to participate in FREE training to boost skills and knowledge to get job ready.
One of the many ways the City supports our community is through capacity-building programs, like the upcoming Ageing and Disability Job Ready Program.
Developed in partnership with Community Skills WA and key industry partners, the Ageing and Disability Job Ready program is 100 percent fee-free for all eligible students.
The program provides an opportunity and pathway to employment and/or further training in two of the fastest growing areas of healthcare in Western Australia, ageing and disability.
The City is delivering this program to help local job seekers get job ready with key skills and knowledge, including how to meet personal support needs.
The program is delivered through two components:
- 5 week classroom-based training starting in October
- then gain real hands-on industry experience through work placement with an aged care or disability support employer.
Once you complete the program and are job ready to join the ageing and disability workforce, you may:
- receive an offer of employment with your work placement employer
- be offered a traineeship in aged care or disability work
- have opportunities to use your skills to transition into an allied health occupation, and
- connect with other employment opportunities and/or complete further studies to again a qualification in aged care or disability support.
Kick-start a fulfilling career in one of the fastest growing workforces in Western Australia and make a positive difference to the lives of others.
