About the Event
Our urban lakes provide refuge for an abundance of wildlife and serve as important places for social connections and families enjoying the outdoors in your neighbourhood here in the City of Mandurah. As we are "Built in Nature," we aim to offer an opportunity for our community to learn how to help ensure these vital urban ecosystems endure for future generations.
Join us for an interactive workshop hosted by our Water Team, who will kick off the event at 9:45 am to discuss the work the City of Mandurah is doing with all Mandurah Urban Lakes. Following this, the Fertilise Wise Healthy Wetlands Workshop will commence at 10am, presented by Natasha Bowden from Sercul, on how to live harmoniously with our local lakes - this year held at Bruce Cresswell Reserve in Meadow Springs! After the workshop on keeping our lakes healthy, there will be a badge-making activity for young and old alike!
There will also be additional local info stalls (including our very own Fight the Bite Mosquito Control Program) and kids' activities (including but not limited to Coastal Waste Warriors and Grow it Local Seedling pots), making this event fun and informative for the whole family to engage with before, after, and during the workshops!
Plus, all attendees can take home a free seedling for their backyard ponds, grown by our City of Mandurah Nursery!
