About the Event
The 'Conversations about Non-Suicidal Self-Injury' course equips participants with the skills to provide initial support to individuals engaging in non-suicidal self-injury until professional help is available or the crisis resolves.
Participants learn to recognise and respond to signs of self-injury and become familiar with interventions and supports that can guide individuals towards professional help.
Through a practical, evidence-based action plan, participants learn how to:
- approach someone they are concerned about,
- initiate a conversation about their concerns,
- offer initial support and information, and
- encourage them to seek professional help or other support.
