About the Event
The City of Mandurah will be hosting a presentation by American award-winning writer, speaker, documentary producer and globally recognised thought leader in the field of dementia care, Michael Verde, at the Mandurah Seniors and Community Centre on Monday 20 November.
This presentation will give community members, local carers and health support people the opportunity to attend, learn and become more informed about person-centred communication to reduce the emotional isolation of people with dementia related impairments.
The presentation will cover:
- identifying the common factors contributing to the emotional isolation of people with dementia-related cognitive impairments.
- introducing person-centred communication that mitigates/ends emotional isolation.
- an illustration of person-centred communication.
