Shoppers and retailers will be able to enjoy longer trading hours in general retail shops in Mandurah this Christmas, giving residents and visitors greater choice to support local businesses during the festive season.
The City of Mandurah has accepted an offer from the Minister for Commerce for extended retail trading hours over the Christmas and new year period for general retail shops.
Those looking to do their festive shopping in Mandurah will have flexibility with extra hours to shop, including longer hours on weekdays, weekends and public holidays. These hours bring Mandurah’s Christmas trading hours in line with the neighbouring Perth metropolitan area.
The following hours have been set for Christmas retail trading for 2025: (shops will be closed on Christmas Day)
6 December to 14 December, and 26 December to 31 December:
• weekdays from 8am – 9pm (no change)
• Saturdays from 8am – 6pm (no change)
• Sundays and public holidays from 8am – 6pm (extra three hours)
15 December to 24 December:
• weekdays from 7am – 9pm (extra one hour)
• Saturdays from 8am – 6pm (no change)
• Sundays from 8am – 6pm (extra three hours)
2026 Public Holidays:
Retail trading hours have also been set at 8am – 6pm for the following public holidays in 2026 (extra three hours):
• Thursday, 1 January 2026 (New Year’s Day)
• Monday, 26 January 2026 (Australia Day)
• Monday, 2 March 2026 (Labour Day)
• Monday, 6 April 2026 (Easter Monday)
• Monday, 27 April 2026 (additional public holiday for Anzac Day)
• Monday, 1 June 2026 (Western Australia Day)
• Monday, 28 September 2026 (King’s Birthday)
Shops will be closed on Good Friday and Anzac Day.
These extended trading hours will allow visitors and the more than 100,000 residents of Mandurah to have an equal opportunity with the Perth metropolitan area and encourage them to spend locally.
The extended hours are part of the City of Mandurah’s commitment to boosting the local economy and supporting retailers who would like to be open during these hours, ensuring a more accessible, enjoyable shopping experience for all.
As in previous years, extended trading hours are optional, and each retailer can decide whether to open during these times.
