Construction of the Dawesville Community Centre has moved a step closer to completion, with the new facility well and truly taking shape over recent weeks.

A series of milestones have been ticked off, with the future community hub remaining on track to hit full completion by mid-2025.

Key works completed recently include:

  • Toilet partitions installed
  • Carpet and vinyl flooring laid
  • Internal cabinetry installed

Installation of the external cladding is on track to finish in the coming weeks, as is internal painting and plumbing works.

Construction of the car park is also nearing completion, and landscaping works have commenced.

Expressions of interest (EoI) for community groups and service providers wishing to make use of the Dawesville Community Centre will be made available soon.

A link to the EoI form will be published on this webpage, and promoted broadly across the City of Mandurah’s social media and digital channels.

A second round of expressions of interest for residents interested in making a public booking will open in June 2025.

Based at the corner of Dandaragan Drive and Woodstock Avenue (near the Coles shopping centre), the Dawesville Community Centre will include a main hall with stage, storerooms, universally accessible toilets, wet and dry multi-use activity rooms, kitchen, some office space, meeting room space with sound insulation, and a play area.

Construction of the new facility is being funded by a $2.65 million Lotterywest grant and a $6.2 million financial contribution from the State Government, with the City of Mandurah managing the project and the future operations of the facility.
