The City of Mandurah will be running junk and metals verge collections across local suburbs from February to May 2025.
This is a great chance to clear out your home, responsibly dispose of unwanted items, and help keep our streets clean and safe.
Check the collection map and dates
Each suburb has a scheduled collection period. To find out when we’ll be in your area, refer to the collection map and dates on our website here.
What you CAN put out for collection
- General waste and junk
- Whitegoods (please detach doors for safety)
- Furniture and scrap metal
- Timber products (up to 1.5 metres in length)
- A maximum of two mattresses per household
To ensure fair and efficient collection for everyone, there is a three cubic metre limit per household, which is equal to about three 6x4 trailer loads. Waste volumes exceeding this limit will not be collected.
What you CAN NOT put out for collection
- Certain items can’t be collected due to safety, environmental, and processing restrictions, including:
- E-waste (electronic and electrical items)
- Green waste
- Building waste and asbestos
- Hazardous materials like paints, gas cylinders, or chemicals
A full list of prohibited items is available on our website.
When placing your waste on the verge, please follow these guidelines:
- Place items on your verge no earlier than seven days before your collection start date.
- Separate your waste into two piles—one for junk and one for metals.
- Ensure waste does not block footpaths or cover utilities like water meters or electrical boxes.
- Do not place items near trees, light poles, or sprinklers.
- Collections will still take place on public holidays, so please plan accordingly. Non-compliance with these guidelines may result in an infringement notice.
By doing the right thing and following these simple steps, we can ensure a successful verge collection that benefits the whole community. Plus, you’ll be helping protect the environment by keeping our streets tidy and reducing waste sent to landfill.
