Despite some challenging weather conditions this month, significant progress has been made on the Eastern Foreshore north and central areas.
Key achievements include:
- Demolition and recycling works are nearing completion across the site.
- Significant progress has been made with the installation of essential services, including electrical, communications, and irrigation.
- Several new concrete areas have been completed alongside the northern businesses. This has been a joint effort, working closely with local businesses to ensure minimal disruption while achieving this important stage of work.
- Paving of the central pathway has started at the northern end. This pathway is a key element that will improve overall accessibility of the area.
- The layout of the northern car park has been completed, and preparation works are well underway with the laying of the sub-base material.
Looking ahead, you can expect:
- Construction of the northern car park to continue including the concrete kerbing and final preparation. The car park will include four ACROD bays; two with rear access and two with side access.
- Paving works on the central pathway will continue, progressing from the northern end towards the south.
- New concrete seating walls will be installed around the northern end, providing comfortable spaces to relax and enjoy the view.
Some businesses at the northern end of the foreshore have taken the opportunity to refresh and renovate their premises, while others remain open and ready to serve. Your continued support of these local businesses is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your patience and support as we work towards creating a safe, accessible and inclusive space for people to meet, play and rest.
