Works on the Eastern Foreshore project are progressing well and on schedule, bringing us one step closer to an exciting new recreational space for everyone to enjoy.
The contractor moved onto site on June 4 and immediately started work. While progress might seem slow to passersby, there is a hive of activity taking place behind the scenes.
Here's what's been happening:
- Over a kilometre of perimeter fencing has been set up to ensure the site's safety and security.
- All below-ground services are being identified to ensure the works are completed safely.
- Tree Protection Zones have been set up to keep our beautiful trees safe.
- Demolition of the old infrastructure is well underway, with the playground, carpark, and above-ground infrastructure approximately 50% complete.
Looking ahead, the pace of work is set to increase over the coming week. You can expect:
- The installation of below-ground services will begin, laying the groundwork for new lighting, CCTV, power outlets as well as water infrastructure like drinking fountains and irrigation systems.
Your patience and understanding is appreciated as we work to transform the Eastern Foreshore into a vibrant and welcoming space for the community.
The businesses at the northern end of the foreshore remain open and ready to serve you. Please continue to show them your valued support over this time.
