Mark your calendars for the Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest, presented by the City of Mandurah, to be held on 16 and 17 March.
Mandurah, Australia’s Top Tourism Town, will come alive throughout the City Centre, marina and stunning waterfront spaces for the free annual event, after Crab Fest drew crowds of 120,000 last year. This year’s festival will be a feast for the senses with exciting things to see, eat and experience for everyone.
Mayor Rhys Williams said the excitement was building for one of WA’s biggest free regional events.
“The Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest perfectly showcases the Mandurah experience, and the City of Mandurah is looking forward to delivering this event in March,” Mayor Williams said.
“Off the back of Mandurah’s incredible tourism accolades recently, including being named the best tourism spot in the country and the enormous success of the Giants of Mandurah, it is wonderful to be able to continue this momentum with our iconic event.
“Crab Fest weekend is an all-round immersive experience. No matter what you’re into, you'll find something to suit your taste. It's a celebration of exciting food and drink experiences, entertainment for all ages, water sports, fireworks and so much more. We welcome everyone to our beautiful city to enjoy all we have to offer.
“Crab Fest is loved by so many across the state and beyond. We are busy behind the scenes bringing the festival to life and are thrilled to again to have a wonderful long-standing partnership with Channel 7 to make Crab Fest possible.”
Maryna Fewster, Seven West Media WA CEO, said “Channel 7 is thrilled to continue our partnership with Mandurah Crab Fest and excited for the festival’s return in 2024. With a rich history from its inception in 1999, the Mandurah Crab Fest holds a special place in the hearts of Western Australians and beyond. Our longstanding collaboration reflects our commitment to supporting and celebrating our local communities”.
The City of Mandurah is excited to announce two homegrown music acts will lead the music line-up on the Seaside Estate Music Stage at this year’s Crab Fest.
One of Australia’s most successful electronic dance music acts, The Potbelleez, will take to the stage on the evening of Saturday, 16 March, bringing some of their biggest dance hits to the crowd including Hello, From The Music, Are You With Me, Saved In A Bottle and the triple platinum top five single, Don’t Hold Back. Following The Potbelleez’ performance, there will be an amazing fireworks display over the Peel-Harvey Estuary.
Four-piece alternative rock band Pacific Avenue, from the Australian coastal town of Gerringong, will bring their blend of classic rock and roll and contemporary indie flavour to Crab Fest crowds on Sunday, 17 March.
Pacific Avenue has previously played at prominent festivals including Spilt Milk, Mountain Sounds, Sounds of the Suburbs, Yours and Owls, Lost Paradise, and Snow Tunes, and has supported many established acts including Tash Sultana and Ocean Alley. Their hits include My Hero and Easy Love. This dynamic quartet’s success extends beyond live performances, earning them a well-deserved nomination at the 2023 ARIA Awards for "Best Rock Album" and "Breakthrough Artist of the Year."
In addition to these show-stopping headline acts, a range of incredible local performers and musicians, including the talented singer Tarryn Stokes, will wow the crowds on the Seaside Estate Music Stage, with live entertainment throughout the Crab Fest weekend.
The 2024 Crab Fest footprint will stretch from the City Centre and along Mandurah’s Eastern and Western Foreshores, Mandjar Square and over to the award-winning Mandurah Ocean Marina.
Highlights of the 2024 Crab Fest include a Main Stage with headline acts, family entertainment, activities, a dedicated Children’s Stage, action sports, water activations, fireworks plus pop-up food stalls and licensed bars.
