The City Centre Master Plan and City Centre Parking Plan have been adopted by Council for advertising and both plans are now open for public comment via Mandurah Matters.
These plans have been developed with input from the community and aim to further enhance Mandurah’s recent recognition as WA’s Most Accessible Community and the heart of Australia’s Top Tourism Town.
The City Centre Master Plan lays the foundations on which the next part of Mandurah’s story will be built, providing a clear vision and guiding future development and investment attraction in a way that builds upon Mandurah’s waterfront character.
This vision for the City Centre allows Mandurah to continue the momentum being experienced right now and works towards creating economic benefits for its residents. This is achieved by encouraging private sector investment to get involved in shaping the city’s future.
The Master Plan was developed with a focus on activity, character and movement, covering four key precincts that stretch across the central area of the City Centre including the Marina and Western Foreshore.
The City Centre Parking Plan, part of the Master Plan, focuses on Mandurah’s parking needs over the next 10 years and how this can be managed and made more accessible to residents and visitors alike.
As Mandurah heads towards a population of 120,000 by the end of the next decade, these plans reflect the city’s next phase of transformations and harness everything the city has to offer.
Shaping a vibrant city matters to Mandurah. Providing cultural amenities, education and employment opportunities and inner city living empowers everyone to thrive. It’s an exciting and important time for the future of our iconic and much-loved City Centre.
Have your say in creating a thriving City Centre for everyone to enjoy for years to come.
