Working closely with the Mayor and Elected Members, the CEO’s key accountabilities include:
- Implementing Council’s directions consistent with the Strategic Community Plan, Long-Term Financial Plan, Annual Budget, and Capital Works Programs.
- Ensuring Council’s human, physical and financial resources are effectively managed.
- Services are provided efficiently, effectively and which meet customer needs and Council requirements.
- Providing organisational leadership that promotes a high performing workplace culture.
- Administering the City’s legal, statutory, risk and compliance obligations.
Council’s expectation is that the next CEO will already possess the full suite of competencies and the high-level executive experience required to be successful in a position such as this. A key focus area for the CEO will be leading a range of economic development initiatives, as well as high level engagement with a range of important strategic stakeholders. In return, the incoming CEO will inherit a truly outstanding and high performing organisation and a stable and united Council.
The position will be offered on the basis of an employment contract of up to 5 years duration with a total remuneration package to be negotiated within the range $350,000 to $390,810.
