This is a must-see event if you want a sneak peek of this year’s Wearable Art Mandurah competition garments months before the spectacular Showcase event in October.
Enjoy an intimate catwalk experience and witness Mandurah’s unique and diverse art scene featuring garments created by local, national and international artists.
Preview ’22 is aligned with the Wearable Art Mandurah judging weekend, with each garment making its way down the catwalk, located in the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre foyer, before being scored by the judges backstage. The highly anticipated judging day is a key phase of the year-long competition.
From the initial 163 entries into the competition, 70 garments have made it to the next stage for judging and the Preview ‘22 event. Each garment will be modelled professionally by Metro Agency and styled according to instructions given by the garment designer.
This year’s renowned judges include Mark Parfitt, award-winning sculptural artist and Major Lead Lecturer for the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Fine Art) at Curtin University; Justine McKnight, creative practitioner working in the intersection of fine art and fashion design, and Gillian-Kaye Peebles, the only Australian to hold senior judging accreditation from the Royal Academy of Arts.
Preview ‘22 will be held on July 30 and 31. For more information about the event go to wearableartmandurah.com.
