About the Event

Join the City of Mandurah and Kayelene Kerr, founder of eSafeKids for this community, parent and caregiver workshop, for an up-to-date discussion on the impact of explicit content on the internet.

Parenting in the digital age can be complex and challenging. Whilst there are many benefits for our children being online, there are also risks. This workshop has been developed to support caregivers talk, in an age and developmentally appropriate ways, with their child about explicit images.

You will leave this workshop with conversation starters, practical strategies and resource recommendations to support you.

Kayelene will cover:

  • An overview of explicit material and inappropriate media in the digital age
  • Children's access and exposure to explicit material in the digital age
  • The effect of explicit material on the developing body, brain and behaviour
  • Creating safe and supportive spaces for conversation and education
  • Specific education and conversation to support children
  • Conversation starters, practical strategies and resource recommendations to support you.
  • Parental controls

Please note, content is not suitable for children, so children are unable to attend. No creche facility available.

Light refreshments will be provided, so please advise of your dietary requirements when booking.
