About the Event
Welcome to Learn2Swim, a comprehensive program designed to support swimmers of all ages and abilities as they develop strong foundations in water safety, stroke technique and aquatic fitness.
Whether your child is just starting out or progressing toward advanced swim strokes and survival skills, Learn2Swim offers a safe, structured, and fun pathway that builds confidence and competence in the water.
Why Choose Learn2Swim?
Water Safety Mastery
Safety is at the heart of our program. Every level reinforces essential water safety behaviours, survival techniques, and safe responses—skills that stay with your child for life.
Stroke Development Across All Styles
Children receive expert instruction in all four competitive strokes—freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly—alongside vital survival strokes. Technique, timing, and body position are progressively developed at each stage.
Low‑Impact, Whole‑Body Exercise
Swimming strengthens major muscle groups, builds cardiovascular fitness, and improves coordination—all while being gentle on growing bodies.
Engaging, Enjoyable Learning
We believe learning to swim should be exciting. Every lesson blends structured skill development with fun, motivating activities.
Growing Confidence and Fitness
As your child improves, you’ll see their water confidence, endurance, and overall fitness steadily rise. Each achievement builds pride and encourages continued progress.
Program Levels
Barracudas
Perfect for complete beginners. Swimmers progress from dry‑head confidence building to floats, glides, and the introduction of flutter kicking. Early safety and survival skills are introduced.
Comets
Swimmers build distance with glides and kicking, while learning the foundations of freestyle arms, backstroke arms, and breaststroke kick. Safety and survival techniques continue to develop.
Makos
At this stage, swimmers begin performing recognisable freestyle, backstroke, survival backstroke, and breaststroke. Distances increase, and safety and survival skills remain a core focus.
Piranhas
Swimmers now complete laps of freestyle, backstroke and survival backstroke, refine breaststroke timing, and are introduced to butterfly. Before progressing, they will complete a dive entry and a 150m continuous swim using all strokes. Survival skills become more advanced.
Sword Fish
Swimmers build up to 300m continuous swimming, refine butterfly, and learn tumble turns. Sidestroke is introduced and perfected. Water safety knowledge is advanced, and students gain the capability to perform basic CPR techniques.
Royal Life Saving Society - Higher Stages and Rescue Awards (Stages 10, 11, 12)
These levels expand survival and rescue ability through Swim & Survive training, including diving, treading water, flotation device use, and safe escape from a capsized boat. Swimming and survival skills become highly advanced.
