About the Event
National Carers week, held from 13 to 19 October recognises, celebrates, and raises awareness of the 3 million Australians who provide unpaid care and support to their loved ones. This week highlights the resilience and dedication of carers and the profound impact they have on our communities.
While National Carers Week runs in mid-October, Mandurah will be celebrating on 22 October with a special morning tea at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC). We warmly invite all unpaid carers to join us, enjoy light refreshments, engage in mindful colouring, and connect with others. A representative from Carers WA will also be on hand to share valuable information about the free supports and services available to assist unpaid carers in their vital roles.
Carers provide essential, unpaid support to family members or friends living with disability, mental health conditions, chronic or terminal illness, addiction, or frailty due to age. At any time, anyone can find themselves in the role of a carer.
