Join us on Sunday, 27 October for the 5th Annual Luca’s Legacy Clean-Up. This community event is dedicated to cleaning up the Creery Wetlands and Dawesville Cut to help safeguard our local environment and wildlife.

About the Event

We are proudly supporting the 5th Annual Luca’s Legacy Clean-Up, an event dedicated to preserving our waterways and honouring the memory of Luca, a young dolphin whose tragic entanglement in fishing line inspired this important initiative.

Join us on Sunday, 27 October at the Port Bouvard Yacht Club as we come together with Estuary Guardians, Coastal Waste Warriors, Tangaroa Blue, RecFish West, DBCA, and Mandurah Cruises to clean up the Creery Wetlands and Dawesville Cut areas. This event is an opportunity to make a positive impact on our environment and help create a cleaner, safer habitat for local wildlife.

Event details:

Date: Sunday, 27 October, 9am onwards

9:00am: Volunteers sign in, collect equipment, and start the clean-up
10:30am: Clean-up finishes, followed by kids’ activities and time to explore the community stalls
11:00am: Prizes awarded and a special announcement made

Location: Port Bouvard Yacht Club, 1 Thisbe Drive, Dawesville

The event will feature a large-scale clean-up effort across multiple sites, educational stalls with information about local wildlife, and fun activities for kids. After the clean-up, enjoy a free sausage sizzle and refreshments, as well as the chance to chat with community groups about how we can all contribute to a healthier environment. A coffee van will be on-site for your morning pick-me-up, and there will be prizes for participants.

This project is supported by the Australian Government Natural Heritage Trust and delivered by the Peel-Harvey Catchment Council.

Don’t miss this opportunity to come together as a community and make a difference!
