Join our celebration of the new black-cockatoo bird watering station and learn about the protection of these cockatoos in Mandurah.

About the Event

Working with the Birdlife and Alcoa through the Community Black-Cockatoo Recovery Project, the City has installed a bird watering station to support key black-cockatoo habitat at Westbury Way Reserve in Dawesville. 

This celebration will mark the official opening of the watering tower and share about the black-cockatoos of our area and what we can do to protect and nurture them.

Time:  9am - 12pm 
Where: Westbury Way Reserve, Dawesville (accessed off Carnaby Dr)

What to expect from the event:

  • An official ribbon cutting and opening of the bird watering station
  • A guided walk from Birdlife through the reserve to learn more about the cockatoos and their habitat
  • Information from the City, Birdlife and Alcoa on the protection of black-cockatoos and how you can get involved 
  • Community planting of black-cockatoo friendly species and a native seedling giveaway
  • A free morning tea
