The future Dawesville Community Centre is taking shape, with a series of construction milestones reached in recent weeks.
The Centre has now hit the lock-up stage of the build, with the interior fit-out now underway. Works completed recently include:
- Internal ceilings lined with plasterboard
- External cladding installed
- Windows and doors installed
The first round of electrical work will also be completed soon, as the Centre tracks towards opening in mid-2025.
The Dawesville Community Centre will provide a central and modern facility for locals and community groups in Mandurah’s south. Features include a main hall, kitchen, office space, meeting rooms, play area, universally accessible toilets, and more.
Identified as a key need in the City of Mandurah’s Social Infrastructure Plan, the project is being funded by a $2.65 million Lotterywest grant and a $6.2 million financial contribution from the State
Government, with the City of Mandurah managing the project and the future operations of the facility.
