Works to the Eastern Foreshore renewal are progressing well, with some key milestones reached ahead of the Christmas break.
As planned, sections of the site continue to re-open to the public as works are completed. This includes the newly turfed space at the southern end of the foreshore, which is now open for the community to enjoy.
Recent works completed:
- Installation of new play equipment, including an accessible Sway Fun Glider, a large play tower with slide and rubber softfall
- Continued completion of the central paved promenade, providing key access throughout the foreshore
- Opening of the new grassed section at the southern end of the foreshore in time for the holiday season, offering an open space for family and friends to enjoy
- Installation of the first shade shelter by the water’s edge, creating new spaces for locals and visitors to relax and maybe even catch a glimpse of our iconic dolphins!
Looking ahead:
- Completion of the remaining shade structures creating more welcoming spaces by the water
- Completion of the fully fenced playground area, offering a range of play opportunities
- Installation of new lighting throughout the foreshore reserve, to improve safety and provide a well-lit space for those evening visits
We look forward to sharing more updates as further sections re-open to the public in early 2025.
Remember, our fantastic local businesses are open and excited for what lies ahead:
