As the scorching summer of 2024 fades away, Perth's trees are feeling the heat. The Centre for Water & Spatial Science (CWSS) wants to understand how the extreme weather has affected our city's trees.

CWSS has deployed cutting-edge remote sensing tools to assess our local trees, but they want the community's insights to decipher the data accurately.

Here's how you can help:

Take a walk around your local parks, bushland, or streets and record the health of the trees.

Look at a mix of both healthy and stressed trees. For each tree surveyed, record the approximate percentage of healthy canopy, bare areas, and presence of dead leaves via the provided online form

You can choose to share your name and contact information on the form if you want updates on the findings of the research. Don't worry, it's up to you, and they'll only use your info for this study and delete it afterward.

Your help is super important in helping our city and its trees stay strong against tough weather. Le Let's work together to understand and protect our local environment!
