The Wearable Art Mandurah competition is back for 2021. For the first time, the garment judging event is open to the public, and tickets are now on sale for people to have a sneak peek at the amazing garments that have been created for this year’s competition. The judging days will be held on August 27 and 28.
Enjoy Mandurah’s unique and diverse art scene and witness 86 amazing garments created by artists from within Mandurah, across Australia and the world as they come to the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre (ManPAC) to be judged as part of the annual Wearable Art Mandurah competition.
Wearable Art Mandurah is Australia’s premier wearable art competition offering a year-long professional development program that encourages designers from within Mandurah, WA, interstate and international locations to create revolutionary works of art of the body.
Wearable Art Mandurah promotes the artistic statement of designers of all ages and abilities through hand-made garments that employ a variety of design mediums including fashion, textiles, industrial, fine art, jewellery, millinery, craft, sculpture and more.
From the 158 initial entries into the competition, 86 garments have been chosen to appear in Wearable Art Mandurah’s judging events over three sessions. Each garment will be professionally styled and modelled by models from Metro Agency, giving people an opportunity to preview these amazing garments in action before the spectacular Wearable Art Mandurah Showcase in November.
Judging will take place in three sessions, bringing to life the six categories that inspired the garments:
