Group of people holding 2021-2026 Access and Inclusion Plan, at the launch event

The City of Mandurah's updated Access and Inclusion Plan (AIP) 2021-2026 was launched yesterday at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.

The AIP is aimed at making sure people with disability have the same opportunities as others in the areas of services and events, buildings and facilities, information, quality of service, feedback and complaints, public consultation and employment.

During 2019-2021, the City undertook a review of the AIP 2015-2020 and engaged with key community members, local agencies and City staff to draft an updated plan that will guide further  improvements in access and inclusion.

To develop the AIP, a co-design approach was used with an internal project team, an external community reference group and the Access and Inclusion Advisory Group all supporting its development.

Close to 500 people have contributed to shaping the plan in a number of different ways, including community workshops, online sessions, phone calls and surveys.

Mandurah is a leader in creating an inclusive and accessible community. Together with the community, there have been big improvements and achievements in creating more accessible spaces, places, events and services.

The City of Mandurah values access and inclusion and strives to build a welcoming community where everyone can actively participate and contribute.
