About the Event
Join prominent Whadjuk Noongar artist, Sharyn Egan, in learning the traditional art of totem, or Boorungur, making.
Sharyn works with sculptural forms often based on flora and fauna that has totemic significance for the Noongar people. Her works often document the relationships between places, people, plants and animals while also reminding us of our role as custodians, to care for the natural world.
This workshop offers an opportunity to connect with Noongar culture, while learning binding and weaving techniques to create a totem that you connect with.
