Our locations
Library membership
Joining Mandurah Libraries is free and easy. To become a member, visit a library branch with proof of your name and current permanent address. Members under 18 must also have a parent or guardian’s signature.
If you’d like to reserve items or access e‑resources straight away, you can sign up for a temporary online membership. This gives you a temporary membership number to use immediately. You’ll need to visit a library within four weeks to show your ID and collect your membership card.
Mandurah Libraries has six types of memberships:
- Adult - for people over the age of 18
- Young Adult - for people between the ages of 13 and 17
- Junior - for children aged 0 to 12
- Unconfirmed address - borrowing limit of 5 items
- Home Library Service - for people who are housebound
- Book Club - for registered book clubs
Borrow items
You can borrow up to 20 items at a time. Most items are available for four weeks.
Magazines and DVDs can be borrowed for two weeks.

- Discovery Backpacks with books, toys and activities on different themes

- Make with Me kits with a picture book and activity

Public Computers
Use your library card and password to log in to public computers for up to two hours per day at all library locations. Printing is self‑service and can be sent directly from public computers.
WiFi
Mandurah has free citywide WiFi. Access the WiFi at the libraries by selecting Mandurah WiFi on your laptop, tablet or smart phone.
Printing and photocopying
Printing and photocopying services are available at all libraries.

Scanning
Free scanning is available at all library locations.. Documents can be saved to a USB drive or emailed directly.

Respect each other: Treat everyone with kindness and consideration. We value diversity and welcome people from all backgrounds, cultures, and abilities.
Look after our space: Help us keep the library clean, tidy, and welcoming for everyone. Please use furniture, equipment, and resources with care.
Share the space: Be mindful of noise and personal space. Use headphones for audio, and keep conversations at a friendly volume.
Be inclusive: Use language and behaviour that is welcoming and supportive. Discrimination, harassment, or bullying of any kind is not accepted.
Follow library guidelines: Please follow staff instructions and library policies, including borrowing rules and computer use.
Children and young people: We are a child safe organisation. Children are welcome and valued. If you’re under 13, please bring a parent or carer with you.
Safety first: If you see something unsafe or need help, let our staff know straight away.

Our staff are here to support you. If you have questions or need assistance, just ask. We want everyone to feel comfortable and included.

If your behaviour makes anyone feel unsafe, you may be asked to leave, and in serious cases, the matter could be referred to the police.
This Code of Conduct applies to every library member, community member, Council member, volunteer, visitor, and employee of the City of Mandurah.
Borrow, request and renew items
Bring your library card and select the items you wish to borrow at Mandurah Library, Falcon Library and Community Centre or Lakelands Library and Community Centre. Issue your items at our self-issue kiosks. Up to 20 items can be borrowed on each membership. You can also use your library membership number to access a range of online resources.
Renew your items from anywhere using our online library catalogue.
- Login using your membership card number and password.
- View your current loans and select the items you would like to renew
- Click on options and then renew selections
- All items that can be renewed will display a new due date. Any items that can’t be renewed will show up in red. These items will need to be returned to your library.
Alternatively, visit, email or call any Mandurah Libraries branch to renew your items.
To find items available through Mandurah Libraries:
- Login to the online library catalogue, using your library card number and password.
- Find the item on the catalogue by doing a quick or advanced search
- Click on the title of the item from your search list to see the full details
- Click on place reservation at the top of the screen
- Select your pick-up location
- Click on continue and a reservation placed screen will show.

Libby
The Western Australian Digital Media Collection contains thousands of fiction and nonfiction eBooks with new titles being added regularly. The Overdrive collection is provided as a state wide program and titles can be borrowed and downloaded to your computer, eReader or mobile device. Download the Libby app and follow easy step by step instructions.
Busy Things
Busy Things is an online resource for children that includes fun learning activities focusing on creative development, problem solving, reasoning, numeracy, communication, language and literacy, and knowledge and understanding of the world. Busy Things is provided through Better Beginnings supporting families in sharing a love of reading.
Story Box Library
Story Box Library is a beautiful online reading room where the wonderful world of Australian Children's Literature is on permanent exhibition. Enjoy a vibrant, interactive experience from a range of storytellers, each sharing past and present book titles. Film is also used to connect children with the stories.
Ancestry Library Edition
Discover your unique family history online. Ancestry Library Edition includes billions of records from around the world, including the United States of America, United Kingdom and Canadian census, immigration and passport records, journals, books, and photos.
Ancestry Library Edition can be accessed by visiting one of the library branches and using our public computers or while using Mandurah Wi-Fi. Visit http://ancestrylibrary.proquest.com to start your journey.
Hoopla
Hoopla Digital has thousands of movies, popular music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on your computer or mobile device with no holds or waiting. All titles can be streamed immediately or downloaded to phones or tablets for you to enjoy wherever and whenever you please!

BorrowBox
You can download eBooks and eAudiobooks for all ages from BorrowBox. Install the BorrowBox library app on your Apple iOS or Android device or download to an MP3 device using iTunes or Windows Media Player to enjoy fiction and nonfiction, new releases and classics.
ePlatform
Choose from a range of fiction and non-fiction eBooks for all ages using your library card number and pin from ePlatform. Available on your personal computer or download the app for your Apple or Android tablet or smartphone.
Kanopy
Kanopy is a video Streaming platform for public libraries delivering one of the largest collections of indie films, classic cinema, festival and educational documentaries, and movies online or through an app. The services enable Public Library and State Library members to browse and view over 30,000 films and documentaries from top suppliers, including the BBC, Criterion Collection, Ronin Films and Madman Entertainment. Once selected, each film may be viewed, paused, finished and re-watched over a 72 hour period before requesting again. Once signed in you can view up to four films or documentaries within a one month loan period. These are updated on the first of every month. Switch to Kanopy Kids for unlimited viewing of children's movies and programs.

Baen Free Library
Are you a science fiction, fantasy, or paranormal romance fan? Baen Books is now making available - for free - a number of its titles in electronic format. Read these titles online - no conditions, no strings attached, or you can download the books.
Project Gutenberg
Project Gutenberg offers over 51,000 free eBooks downloadable to your personal computer, ebook reader, smart phone or other personal device.
Project Gutenberg eBooks and eAudiobooks are for the use of anyone anywhere at no cost . You may copy it, give it away or re-use it under the terms of the Project Gutenberg licence included with the ebook or online at www.gutenberg.org.

National Archives of Australia
The National Archives of Australia has records of the events and decisions that shaped our nation. You can read cabinet notes, search for the armed service records of relatives and read other historical documents.
State Records Office of Western Australia
The State Records Office of Western Australia is responsible for managing, preserving and providing access to the states archives. Information on over two million government records is available online.
The Cochrane Library
The Cochrane Library is a collection of evidence-based medical reviews from Cochrane, other systematic reviews and clinical trials. These online reviews explore the evidence for and against the appropriateness and effectiveness of treatments including medications, surgery and education.
Trove
Trove is an online catalogue of over 440 million items held in libraries across Australia, including university, state and public libraries. Items include books, films, music, maps, images and historic newspapers.
