Creative Wellbeing projects
Creative projects that support wellbeing, connection, and personal expression through the arts.
The City offers opportunities to artists to fuel artistic growth, both through CASM’s annual programs and other opportunities throughout the year.
Artists can showcase work in exhibitions, explore new ideas through studio residencies, connect with the community and take part in unique cultural events.
Our opportunities are guided by a commitment to cultural diversity and aim to support artists at different stages of their artistic journey. They may be open to individuals, groups or organisations.
Annually the following opportunities will become available:
CASM is now accepting applications for its 2027 Exhibition Program, which features seven exhibitions throughout the year, from February-October, with each exhibition open to the public for four to seven weeks.
This program offers emerging and mid-career artists and curators the opportunity to present their work in a professional gallery setting, engage with the local community, and benefit from support including development payments, exhibition planning guidance, and mentorship from the CASM Curator and Development Officer and staff.
Proposals are open to individual artists, artist groups, and curators. Applications from emerging and mid-career artists who explore innovative and contemporary arts practice are encouraged to apply.
Successful exhibition applicants (solo and group) will receive a flat payment of $1,500 toward the development of new works and exhibition costs. The selection process is competitive with only three exhibition periods available to artists annually.
Applications are assessed by a selection panel comprised of both internal staff and independent arts professionals. The gallery curator is available to discuss applications prior to submission by phone or at the Gallery by prior appointment.
Please contact the Gallery Development Officer on 9550 3989 or [email protected] if you require further information.
