Election Scrutineer

Scrutineers are an important part of the election process and are chosen by candidates to represent them during various stages of the election. Scrutineers provide a vital role to preserve the integrity and transparency of elections to ensure that they are conducted according to the Electoral Act 1907.

The Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) produces a Scrutineers Guide which provides general information for election scrutineers.

Scrutineers must complete the Appointment and Declaration form and submit it to the Returning Officer prior to starting their duties.
