Council Election Dates and Notices

Local Government Elections are held every two years, on the third Saturday in October, with half the Council seats becoming vacant on a biennial rotation. The City of Mandurah’s Mayor is also voted in by the electors and this position falls vacant every four years.

The next City of Mandurah Local Government Election will be held on Saturday 19 October 2019.

in 2019 the following Elected Member positions become vacant:

Coastal Ward:     2 vacancies
East Ward:          1 vacancy
North Ward:        2 vacancies
Town Ward:        1 vacancy

The City has engaged the Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) to conduct a postal election for the City of Mandurah Election's. The WAEC appoints a Returning Officer to oversee the election.

The City of Mandurah encourages everyone that is eligible, to make their vote count by participating in the election of their preferred local representative.
